On May 16, 2017 the ARTC held it’s annual spring luncheon at the beautiful AquaTurf Club. As always, the focus was fun and information. This has been a very busy year for our organization. Questions about the tax break on our pensions, the source of funding for our pensions, continued resistance to the repeal of the WEP/GPO have made the work we do more important than ever. For the meeting, we focused on catching everyone up to speed on what’s happening. Also, the spring meeting is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of others. This year we awarded the Glenn Moon scholarship to Suzanne Htoo (we also held our annual raffle in support of this scholarship) and presented Walter Drozeck with the Moe Nirenstein award. Capping off the presentations for this year were three speakers from AARP; their focus was on educating seniors about ways to protect ourselves from fraud and identity theft.
